Rockmat, the foundation for rocky seabed - offshore wind energy, current and tidal turbine

ROCKMAT is an innovative and patented concept of offshore wind foundations adapted to rocky or uneven seabeds. With no site preparation or drilling, ROCKMAT is a lower cost solution that can be implemented using only the local industry and at no cost to the marine environment. ROCKMAT is a self-floating foundation, lowered by hydrodynamic ballast. Accurate leveling is achieved by a system of underwater jacks. Concrete is injected in flexible cofferdams bags to fill in seabed irregularities of 1 meter, eliminating the need for site preparation. BENEFITS * No seabed preparation * No costly lifting operation * No need to core boreholes, except in special cases * The construction can be performed by the local industry * Easy decommissioning by an air injection into the caisson * No environmental impact on the seabed * Structure can be reused/moved PARTNERS * CETEAL, Structure * CATHIE ASSOCIATES, Geotechnics * DV OFFSHORE, Marine Operations * BUSINESS CRESCENDO, Strategy and Bus! iness Development
